Geographic Information

This is a collection of articles about different places I've been in my cruising rambles. Right now it is heavy on Panama information; these are excerpts from my now out of print cruising guide Panama By Water. I will be adding information on other areas so check back frequently!

Costa Rica Anchorages
Here are some tidbits from my cruising journal. It’s been 10 years since I was there, so I’ve left out the “human” stuff like checking in/checking out of the country and the location of “cruiser hangouts” as things like that tend to change. I have assumed that nature will not have changed that much, so believe these notes will still be useful. Be sure to check with other cruisers to double check that conditions are still the same.

Skip and Nehalennia are spending the summer of 2003 in Tarpon Springs--the sponge capital of the world! Here is his cruiser's eye view of a walk around this quiet little town on Florida's Gulf Coast.

Florida's Okeechobee Waterway
Skip and I crossed Florida’s Okeechobee Waterway this past May (2003) from Stuart on the east coast to Fort Myers on the west coast. The good news is that the crossing was uneventful. The bad news is that the crossing was uneventful…which means that I have no dramatic tale to tell. However, having become a big fan of the waterway as a result of the crossing, I want to go on record with my two cents, as undramatic as those two cents may be.
