Doing a lock on the Okeechobee Waterway in Florida
| | My name is Trish Lambert. I’ve been a cruising sailor for over twenty years, a first mate three times, with three different skippers and three very different cruising styles. I know first hand what makes cruising successful, and what I have to share may surprise you! Whether you are a skipper or first mate, a singlehander or part of a cruising couple, sail boater or power boater, Take Her Sailing will make your cruising dream a reality. |
Here are ways you can use THS to make your cruising dream real:Join The Virtual Anchorage, THS's bulletin board. We have an active group of newbies and old tars talking about all sorts of stuff to do with cruising and living aboard. Subscribe to "Nuts & Boats," a free twice-monthly newsletter that offers ideas and suggestions for your own cruising experience. You can subscribe by email or use the form at the right. Scan the collection of free articles about cruising. Some are geographically-based, and some are general in nature. Buy booklets dealing with the facets of cruising that you are currently dealing with. When the entire series is complete, subjects will range from initial preparation to buying and fitting out your boat to managing your affairs while on the water. The first three booklets of the series are now available. Buy the booklets about do-it-yourself boat maintenance. Capt'n Pauley, a man for all boats, spells out the basics in his first series. Or buy booklets that are just great Adventure Yarns! Russ Swan, an Australian cruiser and writer, offers his own and others' boating stories from Down Under and around the globe, as well as a great Australian cruising guide. Purchase a teleconsultation package that fits your needs so that you can talk to me by phone about your own situation and the challenges and issues that you are handling to get out on the water.
I will continue to add resources and material to the site, so be sure to and come back often!! I am committed to the success of your cruising life and look forward to hearing from you! Please contact me any time with your questions, feedback, and suggestions. Now…take her sailing!!! Trish Lambert |
